Retired Massachusetts Superior Court Judge Hon. Margaret R. Hinkle Joins JAMS

Boston – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Margaret R. Hinkle (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Hinkle will be based in the JAMS Boston Resolution Center. She will specialize as an arbitrator, mediator and special master for disputes in a variety of areas including Accounting/Finance, Banking, Business/Commercial, Class Action, Insurance, Intellectual Property, Professional Liability and Securities.

Judge Hinkle managed a wide variety of complex civil litigation during 18 years on the Superior Court bench. She served as the Administrative Justice in the Massachusetts Superior Court’s Business Litigation Session, as the Superior Court’s Regional Administrative Justice (RAJ) for Criminal Business in Suffolk County and also the Suffolk County Civil RAJ.

“Judge Hinkle brings a tremendous amount of business dispute and settlement experience and I know she’ll make an excellent addition to the Boston Resolution Center,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO.

“Joining JAMS is a natural transition for me from my position on the bench,” said Judge Hinkle. “I look forward to utilizing my dispute resolution skills and joining the impressive Boston panel of neutrals.”

In 2010, Judge Hinkle received the prestigious Haskell Cohn Award from the Boston Bar Association for distinguished judicial service. In 2007, the Massachusetts Judges Conference presented a Judicial Excellence award to Judge Hinkle and in 2010 the Frank J. Murray Inn of Court honored her for her judicial service.

Judge Hinkle received her B.A. from College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minn. and her J.D. from Boston College Law School. She also holds an M.A. from Columbia University.
