Ambassador David Huebner recently spoke with CalArb’s California Conversations podcast host, JAMS neutral Charles H. Dick, Jr., Esq., about his career trajectory and the insights he has gained over his years of practice. Ambassador Huebner discusses how his time as United States ambassador for New Zealand and Samoa influenced his approach to and contributed to his skill set for alternative dispute resolution, as well as the other career experiences that energized his passion for international law. Ambassador Huebner also reflects on how his childhood spurred his interest in public interest work and ultimately fueled him to find opportunities to even the scales within the legal industry and promote long-term inclusion, including as part of his role with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. As a professional who has worn many hats, Ambassador Huebner shares his thoughts on the value of diversity of skill and diversity of engagement and the lessons that others can glean from his experience and perspective within the legal industry.
