Ethics for Corporate Lawyers 2023

Corporate counsel face many complex ethics issues in their daily practice. Participants in this interactive program, which focuses on transactional practice, will see common ethics issues dramatized in a series of videotaped hypothetical corporate scenarios and “vote” electronically on the correct ethical responses. A highly experienced panel of ethics experts will then offer best practices and provide analysis of the issues presented.

After completing this program, participants will be able to:

  • Better understand the ethics issues that arise when working remotely
  • Recognize the ethical obligations when supervising others
  • Comprehend the ethical implications of replying to all on emails
  • Recognize which ethics rules apply to your conduct
  • Identify potential issues raised by lateral hiring
  • Recognize the ethical issues related to understanding technology, including, in particular, artificial intelligence
  • Address the ethical implications of data breaches and cyber threats
  • Understand a lawyer's obligations when client's proposed actions are questionable
  • Deal with conflicts of interest in the corporate context
  • Appreciate the parameters of a lawyer's duty to update the client
