Co-Mediation: How Do You Ensure that Two Heads Are Really Better Than One? [CC]

Presented by the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution

Eligible for 1.0 hour NY CLE Credit

Join JAMS and the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution for a 1-hour webinar featuring JAMS neutrals Michael K. Lewis, Esq. and Vivien B. Shelanski, Esq. and JAMS Diversity Fellow, Rachel Gupta (Gupta Dispute Resolutions LLC).  During this webinar, experienced mediators will discuss their experiences co-mediating various types of disputes. They will share tips on how to ensure the process runs smoothly and doesn't become disruptive, what factors mediators should consider before agreeing to co-mediate, and foreseeable challenges for the co-mediators to discuss before the mediation to ensure they are on the same page.

Co-mediation is valuable to mediators of all experience levels because it provides them with opportunities to learn from one another, expand their practice areas, and broaden their skills. However, it can invite complications if co-mediators can't work well together.

Panelists:

  • Rachel Gupta, Gupta Dispute Resolutions LLC, New York, NY
