International Arbitration Battle Royale: Civil v Common Law

Presented by The Florida Bar International Law Section, International Committee of the Bar Council England & Wales, CIArb Brasil Branch, Club Español de Arbitraje, Latin Lawyer, Reed Smith, HKA, and JAMS

JAMS is a proud sponsor and co-organizer of the "International Arbitration Battle Royale: Civil v Common Law." Between the ICC Miami and IBA Annual Conferences, we have the pleasure of inviting you to an in-person, cross-examination exhibition between common and civil lawyers. Who shall prevail and how will the Tribunal manage different styles between major worldwide legal traditions? In session 1, the age-old divide between common and civil law in international arbitration shall go head-to-head in a simulated cross-examination of the Tribunal appointed expert. In session 2, our pre-eminent Tribunal will discuss how these traditions stack up in terms of styles, characteristics, efficiency and effectiveness in persuasion.
