Webinar: “Video Conferencing for Lawyers: A Practical Session & Discussion of Using Zoom in Mediations & Arbitrations”

Presented by the American Bar Association

Join  the Hon. Gail Andler (Ret.), Edwin Cruz, Assistant Manager of Facilities and Administrations at JAMS – San Francisco, and John Sciacctto, a litigator who is a strong proponent of video hearings, for a hands-on, step by step demonstration of hosting and participating in a virtual mediation or arbitration through the Zoom platform. Ed Cruz has assisted parties and neutrals to commence nearly 100 virtual hearings since the COVID-19 shelter in place order and will show you step by step how to schedule, commence and host a Zoom session using break out rooms, waiting rooms and offer best practices and tips, including how to install a virtual background so participants can’t see your private office or living room in a Zoom session.  Judge Andler and Mr. Sciacotta, both strong proponents of video hearings, will then lead a discussion on how neutrals and parties can best prepare for and what to expect in a video mediation or arbitration.  This is sure to be one of the most useful and practical webinar for attorneys with little or no experience with video conferencing through Zoom to attend!

This program is free to Business Law Section Members, and will be conducted via a video call.  Connect to this call via computer or smartphone at this link: https://americanbar.zoom.us/j/259425183
